On Friday night May 23, 2008 from 8pm-11pm the San Francisco K-9 Unit produced the Woof Camp 2008 pup party at International Mr. Leather in Chicago, IL. We would like to thank our sponsor SquarePegToys for making Woof Camp 2008 possible. In addition, we would like to thank several businesses who donated items for the raffle, including pup scene supporters Rubberdawg, Leather Creations and Mr. S Leather SF. Woof Camp had over 40 pups and 20 Handlers in Session A and over 75 pups and 35 Handlers in Session B. Session A was designed as a time and space just for pups and Handlers with no photography or videography allowed. Session A provided play areas, training areas, a vet exam with commemorative rabies tags and a grooming station. The doors were open to the IML public for Session B with photography and videography allowed. More than 600 people came to the party to make it a success, along with at least 4 camera crews from various blogger sites, podcasts, and documentary efforts. We would like to specifically thank the pups and Handlers on the committee who worked so hard to put this event on. They are usually the ones behind the scene, but this could never have happened without them. Thanks to Gunny (we missed you), Daddy Gizmo, Ace, Master Richard, chomper and spunky for relentless efforts and dedication. To all the volunteer pups and Handlers who gave of their time to help make the event enjoyable and run smoothly: Yell'rdawg; Roman; Master Pegasus and his leather family michael, pat and marty; slave tom; Handler Don; Trainer Ben; Sir Kenneth and his pup mohawk; Windy City Boy Marc, tigerpup for the donation of two Scooby-Doo pinata's that were a HUGE hit, music by DJ Sam Storicks, and event photographer Rich Stadtmiller. The biggest thank-you goes to Brue. He was the driving force to make this the biggest and best pup event yet and we want to publicly thank him for his tireless workload, his caring heart and his incredible dedication. We hope to see you at next year's Woof Camp at IML 2009. |
