Woof Camp 2010-Thank You
Woof Camp 2010, the annual puppy party held at International Mr. Leather in Chicago, IL, is over for another year and the comments are coming back about how much fun people had at the event.

As always, I want to express my appreciation for everyone who attended Woof Camp 2010. It seems some of the fun activities were once again the pinatas [this year the pinatas were cats filled with small stuffed black "scaredy" cat toys], interacting with other pups/Dogs, and for some reason the cardboard garbage boxes located on the side walls came into play as well.

The party was held on Friday night, May 28th in Regency Ballroom A at the Chicago Hyatt Hotel. Due to time/space conflicts, we only had one session this year from 10pm-1am. There were the Active and Quiet areas; a vet exam; a grooming station with actual shearing being offered this year; pinatas; pet portraits; door prizes and an official group photo at Midnight. The event was a great success with over 60 pups, 32 Handlers and over 650+ people in attendance [we ran out of door prize tickets at that point]. While supplies lasted, the first people who arrived at 10pm received a commemorative brass/enamel "Woof Camp" pin.

Each year we work hard to make Woof Camp at IML bigger and better. Each year we have learned about what works and what does not work. We always appreciate input from the pup community, because, in the end, this annual fun event is for YOU!

Ultimately it is a small group of people who make this event possible; to them I want to especially say "Thank You" First and foremost is Scott of SquarePegToys [maker of the original silicone puppy tails]. Without his continual monetary support, helpful advice and support of our community in general, Woof Camp might not be the "free entrance" and successful party that it is today. Please make sure to either email and say thank you or shop from his wide selection of erotic toys and support his business.

This party would not have occurred without the pups and Handlers who, when I personally asked them for volunteer help, came forward and pitched in to make the party happen. "Thank You!" for giving of yourselves, your time and your "can do" attitude and energy; I am extremely grateful.

The following are those who deserve howls and a-paws [in alphabetical order]:

  • Andrew G. and rubber friends [Pet Portraits]
  • DJ Sam Storicks (RIP) [Music]
  • Fender [Set-up]
  • Kenneth A. and mohawk [Set-up, Tear-down, Handler, Security]
  • LthrDevilPup [Pet Portrait Props]

  • Rich Stadtmiller [Official Photographer]
  • Sir Michael, boy patt, slave marty and pup Q [Set-up, Tear-down, Handler, Security]
  • TigerPup [Set-up, Pinatas, Handler, Security]

And finally, the Woof Camp 2010 committee members themselves, who put up with my fretting, barkiness, gave numerous hours, weeks and volunteered at the event to make Woof Camp 2010 flow flawlessly so no one would be the wiser of just how much effort and personal time it takes to make this event happen. "Thank You" can't begin to express my gratitude to you all as well:

  • Daddy John [set-up, tear-down, website maintenance, Groomer]
  • Spunky [Set-up, Tear-down, Music Storage, Front Door Security, Podium Duty]
  • Master Richard [Set-up, Tear-down, Door Prize Security, Handler, Security]
  • Gunny [Graphic Designer]
  • Chomper [Set-up, Tear-down]
I will be stepping back from the annual Pup Party held at IML next year. It is a great feeling to give something to our pup community, something unique at IML, just for us. If you have an interest in helping make this happen, please contact me.
